A number of my friends have pretty direct beliefs about demons in ways that I am unsure are totally justified, even within the typical structure. I think much of this comes from C.S. Lewis’ writings (Space Trilogy, Abolition of Man). I’ve not read The Demon Haunted World but that titular vibe is what I get from some of my conversations with them. There are literally non-tangible entities In their frameworks, things like the internet, LLMs, and honestly anything that removes or transfers agency from a human to a non-human element might be a corridor for demons. One of my friends indicated that the internet is the domain of the “Prince of the Power of the Air”. I used to take this more seriously, but it comes off as really… something.
